PC’s Sawyer Quinton and Bulldog’s Elias Long Tie For Second At Nels Nelson Invitational (Full results for Baker/Powder Valley, Pendleton/Griswold, La Grande, Echo/Stanfield, Prairie City, Ontario, Dufur and Umatilla)

PENDLETON – Prairie City junior Sawyer Quinton fired a one-under par 71 as did Baker/Powder Valley junior Elias Long to finish second to Hanford’s Cormac Meinshausen as teams gathered at the Wildhorse Resort golf course for the Nels Nelson Invitational on Monday, April 7.

The team from Baker/Powder Valley finished second in the team standings to champion Hanford with Pendelton/Griswold coming in third. La Grande’s total of 390 was good enough for fourth followed by Echo/Stanfield’s 392 for fifth.

The top finisher for the Buckaroos of Pendleton/Griswold was senior Dakota Malin’s 82, a sixth place showing. La Grande sophomore Brody Miller picked up 13^th as the highest place finish for the Tigers.

In another showing for a sophomore, Echo/Stanfield’s Cole Ayres placed 17^th for the Cougars. Dufur senior Klayton Schanno snuck into the top 20 with a 19^th place showing.
