Crane And Burns Players Named To State Volleyball Teams

With the conclusion of the state volleyball tournaments, the accolades begin. Both the Crane Mustangs and Burns Hilanders saw players named to the state All-Tournament Teams for the 1A and 3A tournaments.

Crane sophomore Kortney Doman received the nod to the state all-tournament team after the Mustangs placed fourth playing at Ridgeview High School. Doman was previously named to the 1A High Desert All-Tournament team in Prairie City.

Burns found two players named to the 3A state all-tournament team. Sophomore Mackenzie King joins senior Kaitlyn Wright on the squad.

King ended the season with 377 kills offensively to go with 66 service aces. She also had 298 digs. Playing in the championship match versus Sutherlin, King recorded 15 kills to go with a single ace. She also added 11 digs.

Wright finished up her high school career with a state volleyball title with the Hilanders. Wright finished her high school career with 874 kills and 157 service aces. She also had 339 digs. Wright led Burns in the championship match with 17 kills and two service aces.
