ONTARIO – The season is still very young but the Vale girls basketball team hold a perfect 3-0 record after a 60-16 blowout victory over Ontario on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in the Tiger gym.

The Viking girls led from the first basket of the game as Vale senior Halle Peterson scored with an inside basket to place the first points on the board. Peterson went on to score the first eight points of the game and ended the night with 20 points to lead all scorers.

At the 3:01 mark, Ontario put in the team’s first and lone score of the first quarter off a basket from Macy Rodriguez. The Vikings held a 16-2 margin after the first eight minutes and led at the half 32-7.

In addition to Peterson’s points, Vale picked up 12 points from Izzy Maag and 11 points from Kesley Stepleton, both sophomores.

Rodriguez finished with six points for the Lady Tigers to lead Ontario.
