LA GRANDE – The Vale volleyball team picked up a non-league victory over the 4A La Grande Tigers in a three-set match on Tuesday, Sept. 13 in La Grande.
Vale started the match quickly, cruising to a 25-9 victory in the first set. The Tigers fought back in the second set, forcing the set to extra points before Vale pulled out a 27-25 win. In the third and final set, the Vikings won, 25-19.
Both Wrenna Cooke and Joey Cleaver picked up 11 kills each for the offensive punch for Vale. Ali Aldred added 25 assists and Kinsey Meisinger added five kills. Elise Seals had 12 digs.
From the service line, Brogan Payne ended her night 20-for-21 with two aces. Meisinger recorded four aces while serving 14-for-15. Cleaver had two aces while serving 11-for-12.

“We came out with a game plan that followed what we need to do,” said Vale coach Shannon Steele. “We will continue to work on not allowing momentum to affect us. Overall, the kids did a great job.”
