EUGENE – Lacking one individual state champion, the Weston-McEwen girls put together a number of second and third place showings to claim third place in the team standings as the 2A OSAA Track and Field Meet came to a conclusion.
The TigerScot girls scored 41 points, behind both Regis and state champion Coquille. The Heppner girls finished in the top 10 in seventh while Enterprise wrapped up the meet in 13th and Lakeview in 15th followed by Pilot Rock in 16th.
Weston-McEwen picked up some of these points with second place finishes by Kelsey Graham (400 meters and 4-by-100 relay), Charli King (4-by-100 relay), Rose White (4-by-100 relay) and Lily Lindsey (4-by-100 relay).

Eastern Oregon did see two individual champions. Senior Hannah Finch provided Heppner with a state champion as she crossed the finish line first in the 800 meters, putting up a personal best time of 2 minutes, 24.52 seconds.
Enterprise freshman Nevaeh James started off her high school career with a state championship. Running in the 300-meter hurdles, James grabbed the medal with a time of 50.18 seconds.
