THE DALLES – For the second time this season, La Grande keeper Lyndie Isaacson did not allow a ball in the net as La Grande downed The Dalles, 1-0, in nonleague girls’ soccer action on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
“Lyndie had a terrific game, saving nine shots on goal,” said La Grande coach Chris Gianandrea.
Neither team found the net in the first half of play with Rowan Evans scoring the lone goal of the day in the second half for the La Grande win.
“The two teams played very similar styles of soccer with extended passing and movement on the field,” Gianandrea said. “The Dalles is a well-coached team and the whole game was like moving chess pieces for one of us to break out.”
La Grande is now number one in the OSAA rankings for 4A girls’ soccer. Molalla sits second in the formal rankings with Marist Catholic third.
