NYSAA – After a few reschedules, teams finally made the trip to Nyssa to take part in the Nyssa Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 8.
Competing against a large contingent of Idaho schools, the host Bulldog boys placed eighth in the team scores with Vale placing ninth.
The Vikings did score a top five individual placement as Vale junior Trevor Stewart placed fourth behind three runners from Victory Charter. Stewart ran the 5,000 meters in 17 minutes, 47.78 seconds. Nyssa’s top finish came from junior Spencer Romans and his time of 20:39.91. Adrian freshman Keegan Johnston led the Lopes in 58th and Four Rivers senior Aiden Herrera led the Falcons.
The Vale girls finished the day in eighth place in the team standings led by a fifth-place finish by freshman Addie Saunders and a time of 23:01.73. Adrian junior Evalyn Nunez placed 13th after crossing the line in 23:50.77 and Nyssa freshman Jazlyne Martinez was top for the Bulldogs in 38th. Four Rivers freshman Tatyana Hernandez led the Falcons finish in 62nd.
