The Oregon Basketball Coaches Association recently released their awards for 1A state girls’ basketball.
Voted upon by her peers and in her first year as head coach of Crane, Tomika Doman picked up Coach of the Year after guiding the Mustangs to a state title.
Crane senior Kortney Doman, in a unanimous vote by the state’s coaches, picked up Player of the Year. Teammate Kaitlyn Siegner was named to first team honors in her freshman year as a Mustang. Continuing with Crane, Ava Bowen was chosen for third team honors and Taya Nelson was named to honorable mention.
Powder Valley’s Jodi Bingham was also found on first team honors. She was joined by Badger teammate Kellee Dixon on third team.
Jordan Valley named two players to the list with Kenzie Tuttle on second team and Meg Eiguren to honorable mention.
Union’s Kaelyn Shoemaker found her name on second team honors along with South Wasco County’s Julie Hull.
Honorable mention included a number of eastern Oregon players including Prairie City/Burnt River’s Brooke Teel, Trout Lake’s Violette Anderson, Wallowa’ Sophie Moeller, Echo’s Nevaeh Thew, Echo’s Mayela De La Fuente and Imbler’s Rachael Stirewalt.
