After winning the 4A state softball title, it comes as no surprise numerous Pendleton softball players found their names on the 4A All-Star listing.
Leading the list is Madaline Schumacher, graduating with the co-player of the year honor. After voting by the state’s softball coaches, Schumacher was named the best in the 4A, sharing the award with Astoria’s Kya Lindell.
After taking the Bucs to a state trophy, Pendleton coach Tim Cary picked up coach of the year.
Pendleton named five players to all-state, including three players named to the first team. Junior Reese Furstenberg, senior Avery Krigbaum joined Schumacher with the top honors. Senior Melanie Boatman departs with second team honors as did sophomore Avery Quaempts.
La Grande saw second team notifications go to senior Genessa Porras, junior Marti Anderson, junior Carlee Strand and sophomore Maddie Seavert. In addition, senior Belle Neer and junior Austyn Meuser were named honorable mention.
Ontario senior Brie Kemble was the lone Tiger named and Baker saw only freshman Colbi Bachman on the list with both named honorable mention.
