After playing to an 11-1 4A Greater Oregon League record and just picking up a 4A state championship, the Pendleton softball team dominated the GOL all-league selections as voted upon by the league’s coaches.
Junior pitcher Reese Furstenberg will return next season as the reigning Play of the Year for the league. Also hitting the field again next year, Madaline Schumacher was named Player of the Year for the GOL while coach Tim Cary was chosen by his peers as Coach of the Year.
In addition to Furstenburg and Schumacher, Pendleton players filled the listing. Joining the two junior Buckaroos is senior Melanie Boatman and sophomore Avery Quaempts along with senior Madaline Schumacher and senior Avery Krigbaum, all on first team.
Second team honors went to junior Kendall Murphy, junior Josie Jenness, junior Ella Sams, sophomore Maryn Broker and junior Madelyn Lieuallen.
The GOL runner-up team Tigers of La Grande found eight players named to the list. Junior Austyn Meusser, junior Marti Anderson, sophomore Maddie Seavert, senior Belle Beer, senior Genessa Porras and junior Carlee Strand all claimed first team honors.
Second team La Grande players included sophomore Peyton Daggett and sophomore Joselyn Dodds.
The other Tigers of Ontario saw senior Bri Kemble as the lone player named to the listing with the Ontario pitcher named for first team.
Baker’s players on the all-league list included freshman Colbi Bachman (the lone freshman named to all league) to first team and sophomore Reagan Ritter, junior Brooklyn Rael and sophomore Kellie Dixon (a Badger of Powder Valley) to second team.
