After a perfect season record including a dominating performance and victory in the state championship game, the accolades arrived for individual Adrian football players as the 1A 8-man All-State team was named.
The Antelopes picked up three of the four top awards led by senior Rance Jordan named as Offensive Player of the Year joined by teammate and senior Colten Bayes picking up Defensive Player of the Year. The duo’s coach, Billy Wortman, was named Coach of the Year. The lone top award not claimed by a Lope went to Crane senior Cody Siegner, the Lineman of the Year.
The first team for offense was stuffed with Adrian players with Jordan leading the way. Junior Chase Franklin picked up the honor as a receiver and sophomore Braysen Jordan rounded out the selections as an offensive lineman.
Adrian was unable to grab all the slots on first team offense as Union senior Morgan Johnson was picked as the top quarterback in the state. In addition to Crane’s Siegner as a receiver, Dufur senior Foster Harvey was the top center for the year.
The second team offense included Dufur sophomore Gavin Anderson at the quarterback slot. In addition to his top honor on defense, Adrian’s Bayes was second team running back, joining Dufur senior Nolan Cates in the same position. Cates ran behind teammate and second team sophomore Daylin Hammitt, chosen for his work on the offensive line along with Union senior Tucker Reed. The eastern Oregon selections continued with Powder Valley senior Wesley Kerns finishing his final year as a second team center.
The honorable mention for offense included Powder Valley senior Tucker Martin at running back and Sherman/Condon junior Caiden Walker at offensive linemen.
Switching to defense, the Adrian selections continued as senior Zeke Bayes was chosen as a defensive tackle with Jordan again making the listing as a defensive end. Bayes is found on both sides of the ball as a linebacker with Lope junior Chase Franklin making the honor as a defensive back.
Crane’s Siegner also saw honors on both sides for his work as a defensive end and was joined on first team by teammate and senior Ross Clark as a defensive back. Dufur senior Nolan Cates departs high school ball as a first team linebacker.
The second team selections for defense were led by Adrian sophomore Mannie Mulrony as linebacker. He was joined by two Crane players, senior Keegan Sallee as defensive tackle and senior Brady Otley as linebacker. Dufur also saw two names on the list led by senior Foster Harvey as defensive tackle along with senior Sonny Wilson as defensive back. Sherman/Condon senior Blake Carmine played his final year as a second team defensive end and Powder Valley senior Tucker Martin departs as a second team linebacker.
Even special teams selections did not shut out Adrian Bayes picked up another award as the second team returner. Sherman/Condon sophomore Jacoby Roberts will be back on the field next season as the second team placekicker as will Powder Valley junior Breyton Golar, the first team punter. Cove senior Caleb Carson picked up first team honors as a placekicker.
