4A BOYS STATE BASKETBALL QUARTERFINALS
#5 Baker versus #4 Crook County at Forest Grove High School, 3:15 pm After crushing The Dalles at home on Saturday, March 8, the Bulldogs meet Crook County, a 52-40 winner over Hidden Valley in round one. In two games this season, Baker and the Cowboys split with the Bulldogs taking a 63-57 victory on Dec. 7 in the Oregon Tip-Off tournament. The Cowboys repaid the favor, downing Baker on Jan. 10 in a 62-52 game, the final defeat in a six-game loss streak by the Bulldogs.
4A GIRLS STATE BASKETBALL QUARTERFINALS
#5 Cascade versus #4 La Grande at Forest Grove High School, 3:15 pm After taking care of Cascade in round one, the Tigers meet Cascade in quarterfinal play. The Cougars are the third seed from the 4A Oregon West Conference and have won their last five games including a first round victory over Junction City. Both teams met and took wins over North Marion when comparing common opponents.
#11 Baker versus #2 Henley at Forest Grove High School, 6:30 pm Baker pulled off the upset over #6 Marshfield in round one and now enter Forest Grove looking to take a second upset over Henley.The Hornets were a perfect 12-0 in Skyline Conference play with their only two losses of the season coming to 5A teams Crater and Redmond. The Bulldogs have won seven of their last eight games.
