PORTLAND – Eastern Oregon was represented by squads representing the Pirates, Tigers and Vikings as the OnPoint Community Credit Union OSAA Cheerleading Championship wrapped up action on Saturday, February 15 in Portland.
In the 3A/2A/1A division, Riverside placed eighth after receiving a total score of 103.30. The Pirates received a 39.10 in the building skills, 36.20 in tumbling/jumps and 30 points in the overall routine. The Pirates did also pick up a two-point penalty for their routine.
Santiam Christian picked up the championship with a score of 138.40.
Ontario placed fifth in the 4A competition with a total score of 119.50. Receiving no penalties, the Tigers scored 45.40 in building skills, 38.10 in tumbling/jumps and a score of 36 for their overall routine.
Gladstone was crowned number one with a score of 154.90.
Competing in the CoEd Large division, Umatilla finished tenth with a score of 120.10. The Vikings had zero deductions, scoring 42.10 in building skills, 40 in tumbling/jumps and 38 points for their overall routine.
Tualatin, finishing with 166.70, picked up the state title.
