HERMISTON – After a road trip to Seattle, the Hermiston boys lacrosse team find the Bulldog name ranked 17th in the most recent state 3A/4A poll.
Thursday, April 7 saw the Bulldogs meet up with the third-ranked 4A team in the state, Mount Si. Enduring a tough first half, Hermiston fell, 15-4.
“We struggled with catching and passing in the first half and was down by 10 at halftime,” said Hermiston head coach Jacob Arnold. “We made some adjustments and cleaned things up in the second half. Mount Si had a very aggressive defense and a good goalie.”
In the loss, Andrew Guerrero had two goals. Vinny Trevino and Carson Bradshaw each added one goal.
The competition stayed tough, but with a different outcome on Friday, April 8 as the Bulldogs met up with Snohomish. Behind Carson Bradshaw’s six goals, Hermiston reversed their fortunes and took a 12-9 victory.
“Our defense played lights out and Jasper Hardy, our goalie, had a fantastic game,” Arnold said. “Snohomish was 6-1 coming into this game and ranked third in the 3A classification and eighth overall in the state.”
In addition to Bradshaw’s showing, Trevino ended with three goals, Blake Palzinski added two goals and Guerrero added a single goal.
