Previewing The Big Sky Volleyball Tournament (Full schedule)

THE DALLES – The four volleyball teams in attendance on Saturday, Oct. 26 in The Dalles gym are all guaranteed a state berth but that does not lessen the level of competition as the Big Sky League plays their league tournament.

Fans need to grab a coffee as action begins early with admission prices $10 for adults and $6 for students attending.

Game 1, 10 am – #1 South Wasco County versus #3 Ione/Arlington: The Redsides were upset by Sherman on Oct. 19, marking the team’s lone league defeat. The Cardinals downed Lyle/Wishram in a play-in game to make the tournament. South Wasco County beat Ione/Arlington 3-0 on Oct. 10 in the previous meeting of these two teams.

Game 2, 30 minutes after the completion of game 1 – #2 Spray/Mitchell/Wheeler versus #5 Sherman: The Huskies pulled off the upset over Dufur to make the trip to The Dalles. Sherman comes in with a 7-6 league record and face the Rattlers sporting a 11-2 league record with both losses coming to South Wasco County.

Game 3, 30 minutes after the completion of game 2 – loser of game one versus loser of game two.

Game 4, 30 minutes after the completion of game three – winner of game one versus winner of game two for the league championship.
