BURNS – Prairie City’s Sawyer Quinton fired a 75 to run away from the rest of the field as the Burns Hilanders hosted the Burns Tournament on Wednesday, April 23.
The host Hilanders hoisted the team trophy for the tournament after combining for a 354-stroke total. Prairie City grabbed third, just behind Trinity Lutheran while Vale grabbed fourth followed by Ontario in fifth. The Nyssa boys settled for sixth with Grant Union and Pilot Rock/Ukiah not qualifying for a team score.
For host Burns, Kaden Peasley led the Hilanders, finishing second, 10 strokes behind Quinton.
Vale saw Jake Ross take a top 10 finish as he tied with Prairie City’s Ritter Rookstool as both shot 94.
Pilot Rock/Ukiah’s Landon Norton was the top Rocket golfer, finishing 18th. Grant Union was led by Cody Weseman in 20th.
