Ontario Soccer Rolls Over Cascade For Play-In Victory

ONTARIO – The Ontario boys soccer team will be on the road on Wednesday to take part in the OSAA 4A soccer tournament after a 6-0 win over Cascade in a play-in game on Saturday, Oct. 30.

With just over 10 minutes of play completed, the Tigers were on the score board off a goal by Jaaziel Chavez. Just two minutes later, Ontario put the ball in the goal again, this time off the foot of Jesus Hernandez. Ontario led at the half, 3-0, after a Cascade player inadvertently put the ball in the Cougars’ goal.

Hernandez picked up his second goal of the day early in the second half as the Cascade goalie came out to the edge of the box, falling and leaving the goal open. Teammate Ruben Hernandez score the fifth goal of the day as he took a corner kick in for the score.

Chavez scored his second goal of the day later in the second half to give the Tigers the 6-0 win.

Ontario has a tough schedule in the state tournament, meeting top ranked Stayton on Wednesday in Stayton. The game time is yet to be announced.
