Huge Congratulations to OHS Boys Varsity Soccer coach Jaime Gonzalez for being named Coach of the Year for the state of Oregon!

Here are some of Coach Jaime’s accomplishments while being the Boys Soccer Head Coach at OHS.

In the last 4 seasons, he has accumulated the following stats:

Coach Jaime is also a leader in the community. He is the Vice President of the Ida-Ore Soccer Club and has been the Head Varsity Coach at OHS for 5 years. Coach Jaime sets a high standard of responsibility for his players both in and out of the classroom. His players are polite, do not argue with officials and hold each other accountable to meet coaches’ expectations. In the classroom, his players are respectful attentive and put in their best efforts. Coach Jaime Gonzalez demonstrates and upholds standards for not only his players but also himself and his coaching staff. Coach Jaime works tirelessly year-round in all aspects of coaching he spends countless hours helping with the upkeep of the fields, maintaining equipment, and supporting other sports within the athletic department. He teaches his players the importance of education, working hard, and the value those bring to your personal growth and for an individual’s future. Teachers will reach out to him even in the off-season if they see a player struggling in class. Coach Jaime often reaches out to his families to see if there’s anything the student needs and then reports back to either the teacher or the AD even if there are needs outside the classroom.

We are so proud to have this year’s coach of the year here at OHS!
