Ontario boys fall to New Plymouth

ONTARIO – The Ontario boys’ basketball team fell to 0-4 in the season with a 71-40 loss to the Idaho 2A New Plymouth Pilgrims on Thursday, December 12 on the home court.

The Tigers struggled with the New Plymouth press throughout the first half, turning the ball over and allowing the Pilgrims easy baskets. At the half, the Pilgrims led 38-14.

Ontario never could find the rhythm in the game, trailing 50-25 at the end of the third quarter.

Offensively, the Tigers struggled with no player reaching double digit scoring. Eli Morin led the team with nine points with Jake Hartley adding eight points.

Ontario (0-4 overall) takes on county rival Nyssa (1-1 overall) on Friday, December 13 with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
