VALE – The Nyssa tennis team won five of six singles matches as the Bulldogs traveled to Vale on Tuesday, April 26 to take on the Vikings.
Nyssa picked up singles wins from Mary Esplin, Emma Goldthorpe, Dawson Richards, Seth Ballantyne and Brady Cooper over Vale opponents. For the Vikings, only Sadie Graviet came away with a victory.
Doubles action also went the way of the Bulldogs, 3-2. The teams of Sebastian Berry/Porter Carlton and Sabrina Esteves/Keighlee Bunker picked up victories for the Bulldogs as well as Spencer Romans and Howie Rushton downing Vale’s Luke McGourty and John Wolfe in a three-set match ending with a 9-7 tiebreaker.

Third girls’ doubles: Sabrina Esteves/Keighlee Bunker (Nyssa) defeated Livia Flynn/Giselle Bahena (Vale), 4-6, 6-4 (10-2).
First girls’ singles: Mary Esplin (Nyssa) defeated Ali Aldred (Vale), 7-5, 6-1. Second girls’ singles: Sadie Graviet (Vale) defeated Brenna Kesler (Nyssa), 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. Third girls’ singles: Emma Goldthorpe (Nyssa) defeated Autumn Jones (Vale), 6-2, 6-0.
