Nyssa tennis takes 7-5 victory over Vale

NYSSA – The Nyssa tennis team used victories in every single’s match to get by the Vale team, 7-5, on the Bulldog courts Monday, April 19.

The Vikings were able to turn the tables in doubles action, winning five of the doubles matches, but ultimately fell in the team scoring.

“We are very happy to be able to play against a strong tennis program like Nyssa,” said Vale coach Paul Spivey. “All of our players benefit greatly from competitive matches like this and we can’t wait to play them again in the future.”

Third girls singles: Daisey Hernandez (Nyssa) over Theresa Fife (Vale) 7-5, 6-0

First girls doubles:  Payton Kelso/Luke McGourty (Vale) over Josh Ashby/Spencer Romans (Nyssa) 6-2, 6-3

Second girls doubles: Haylee Cleaver/Giselle Bahena (Vale) over Belle Wagstaff/London Hartley (Nyssa) 3-6, 6-2, 6-3

Third girls doubles: Ali Aldred/Sadie Graviet (Vale) over Brenna Kesler/Sabrina Esteves (Nyssa) 4-6, 6-4, 6-3
