Nyssa tennis sweeps singles in defeat of Vale

VALE – Earlier this season, the Nyssa tennis team used a sweep of the single’s matches to defeat Vale on the home court of the Bulldogs. On Friday, May 7, the courts were different, but results the same.

Nyssa downed Vale 6-4, using wins in all of the singles matches and a few victories in doubles action on the Viking’s home court.

First boys doubles: Payton Kelso/Luke McGourty (Vale) defeats Colton Ridlisbacher/Josh Ashby (Nyssa) 6-3 7-6 (7-3).

Second boys doubles: Austin Romans/Bryan Dorathy (Nyssa) defeats Eli Mendieta/Diesel Johnson (Vale) 6-4 5-7 6-4.

Third boys doubles: Howey Rushton/Sebastian Berry (Nyssa) defeats Vicente Arteaga/Sam Mendieta (Vale) 6-2 6-1.

First girls doubles: Jessi Arriola/Brenda Ramirez (Vale) defeats Mary Esplin/Gabby Ureiro (Nyssa) 6-3 6-2.

Second girls doubles: Haylee Cleaver/Giselle Bahena (Vale) defeats Belle Wagstaff/London Hatley (Nyssa) 6-3 7-5.

First girls singles:  Chloe Richards (Nyssa) defeats Kailey McGourty (Vale) 6-3 1-6 6-1.

Second girls singles: Mikayla Peterson (Nyssa) defeats Riley Kesey (Valee) 6-7 (7-5) 6-4 6-1.

Third girls singles:  Qyonee Mitchell (Nyssa) defeats Theresa Fife (Vale) 6-2 6-0.

First boys singles: Dawson Richards (Nyssa) defeats Braxton Bair (Vale) 7-5 6-2.

Second boys singles: Brady Cooper (Nyssa) defeats A.J. Sigrah (Vale) 6-3 7-6 ( 8-6).
