NYSSAVale lacking players and excellent play in singles competitions results in the Nyssa tennis team downing Vale, 8-4 on Friday, April 15 on the courts in Nyssa.

The Bulldogs swept the girls’ singles matches with Mary Esplin and Brenna Kesler taking victories. The Bulldog boys did the same with wins by Dawson Richards, Seth Ballantyne and Brady Cooper.

Vale did find success in the doubles matches as the teams of Kaily McGourty/Jessi Arriola, Brenda Ramirez/Elise Seals and Theresa Fife/Giselle Bahena all took victories. The lone boys teams of Luke McGourty/John Wolfe also grabbed a win.

First girls doubles: Kailey McGourty/Jessi Arriola (Vale) defeated London Hartly/Belle Wagstaff (Nyssa) 6-1, 6-3. Second girls doubles: Brenda Ramirez/Elise Seals (Vale) defeated Gabriela Ureiro/Laney Hartley (Nyssa), 6-0, 6-1. Third girls doubles: Theresa Fife/Giselle Bahena (Vale) defeated Sabrina Esteves/Keighlee Bunker (Nyssa), 8-3.

First girls singles: Mary Esplin (Nyssa) defeated Ali Aldred (Vale), 6-1, 6-0. Second girls singles: Brenna Kesler (Nyssa) defeated Autumn Jones (Vale), 6-1, 6-0.

Boys Results

First boys doubles: Luke McGourty/John Wolfe (Vale) defeated Spencer Romans/Howie Rushton (Nyssa), 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.

First boys singles: Dawson Richards (Nyssa) defeated Braxton Bair (Vale), 6-4, 6-4. Second boys singles: Seth Ballantyne (Nyssa) defeated AJ Sigrah (Vale), 6-0, 6-1. Third boys singles: Brady Cooper (Nyssa) defeated Sam Mendieta (Vale), 6-3, 6-1.
