Oregonlive recently compiled a list of some of the top wide receiver’s in Oregon this year and a few from eastern Oregon made the list.
WR Blaine Shaw, La Grande
6-0, 180, Sr.
Shaw earned second-team Class 4A all-state recognition last year after catching 17 touchdown passes and finishing with 780 receiving yards. “Blaine is extremely smart, athletic and positive,” said Tigers coach Rich McIlmoil. “His hard work shows on the field. He is a true team player.”
WR Pedro Chavez, Nyssa
5-8, 150, Sr.
Chavez, the Bulldogs’ top receiving option each of the past two seasons, earned second-team Class 3A all-state honors in helping Nyssa reach the state quarterfinals in 2018. He also is a standout on the basketball court, where he was the Eastern Oregon League’s player of the year as a point guard.
WR Walker Camp, Pendleton
6-5, 195, Sr.
Camp, a second-team all-5A Special District 1 East selection as a junior, is a go-to target in the Buckaroos’ passing game with his length and tremendous football IQ. Through four games this season, his 267 receiving yards ranked seventh in Class 5A.
