Nyssa Boys Fall In Opener

John L. Braese

NEW PLYMOUTH – The Nyssa boys basketball team started the season on the road, traveling to New Plymouth on Wednesday, Nov. 30 to meet the Pilgrims.

A slow start combined with playing a good New Plymouth team resulted in a 36-55 loss to start the year for the Dawgs.

The first points on the board were elusive for the Bulldogs with Zach Kauslet knocking down a three to get Nyssa going with almost three minutes off the clock. A second basket by Ronaldo Beuno were the lone five points for the quarter.

The Bulldog boys did come out after the half with some offensive show, scoring 13 points in the third quarter.

Beuno led Nyssa with eight points on the night. Both Tony Gomeza and Colton Fales added five points each.

Nyssa played the first half under Idaho’s 35-second shot clock ruling. The Bulldogs never received a shot clock violation.
