Three teams from the 3A Eastern Oregon League will start the march towards a state title starting Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Burns (27-3 overall and ranked sixth in the OSAA rankings) received the bye as league champions and will continue in the practice gym until Saturday, Oct. 29. The Hilanders will then host Corbett. EOS will have more about this match later in the week.
Nyssa (10-13 overall) will be in the gym of Cascade Christian (16-9 overall) on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. match. The Bulldogs enter the state play-in ranked 30th in the OSAA while the Challengers hold down the 16th place in the rankings.
During the course of the season, both teams played and fell to Burns. Nyssa also fell to Vale while Cascade Christian downed the Vikings, 3-1 to start the season back on Aug. 27.
Vale (11-12 overall and ranked 22nd) will also be on the road to start the playoffs, traveling to Siuslaw (12-11 overall and ranked 15th) on Wednesday, Oct. 26 with a 6 p.m. start time and a match pitting Vikings versus Vikings.
Like many teams around the state, both Vikings squads met and fell to Burns over the course of the season.
