Montgomery takes first, La Pine boys win home meet

ROSLAND ELEMENTARY – La Pine sophomore Wyatt Montgomery chose his home meet to run his best time of the season and propelled his team to the team championship as La Pine hosted the La Pine Invitational on Wednesday, March 24.

Montgomery posted a time of 17 minutes, 47.10 seconds, beating out his older teammate senior Max Miller and his time of 17:48.20. Senior Jesse Ordonez ran in fourth.

La Pine beat out the Klamath Union boys, 21-37.

The girl’s race featured only six runners and no team scores. La Pine sophomore Ashley Jentzsch was the second runner to cross the tape, posting a time of 23:55.00. The other finisher for La Pine was sophomore Kylie Treece, posting a fifth place showing.
