While players from Riverside and McLoughlin dominated the first team selections, it was the Pioneers taking the top awards as the 3A/2A/1A Special District 6 All-League honors were announced.
McLoughlin senior Danny Gonzalez was instrumental in leading the Pioneers to a perfect 10-0 district record and picked up Player of the Year as voted upon by the district coaches. Pioneer goalie Cristian Hernandez received the Goalie of the Year and McLoughlin coach Jose Garcia was named by his peers as Coach of the Year.
The first team awards were all Pioneers and Pirates. Joining Gonzalez and Hernandez for the McLoughlin were teammates senior Giovanny Sandoval, junior Adrian Camarena, senior Michael Wolden, junior Tucker Brunot and sophomore Damain Castruita.
For Riverside, first team honors were handed to junior Hugo Ceron, Jesus Peiia, senior Jonathan Lopez and senior Arturo Murguia.
McLoughlin eight players to all-league while Riverside saw seven players on the list. Four Rivers picked up two players named with four Knights of Irrigon finding all-league honors. Four Bulldogs of Nyssa picked up honors and six Umatilla players were scattered between second team and honorable mention.
