The football season may have ended without a repeat of a state title for the Heppner football team, but Mustang names dominated the listing of the All-State 2A team.
The selections were led by Brock Hisler named as the Defensive Back of the Year in the state. Hisler also saw his name appear on the first team selections for running back. He was joined on the first team by Mustang teammates Jace Coe, Conor Brosnan and Blane Mahoney.
Players representing Heppner, Weston-McEwen, Grant Union and Stanfield were recognized in the selections, showing the dominance of football in eastern Oregon.
