ROGUE STATE PARK – The cross-country season is not quite over for the Lakeview girls.
After finishing third in the team scoring at the 3A/2A/1A District 4 Championships at Rogue State Park on Thursday, Aug. 26, the Lady Honkers picked up the final spot in qualifying for the upcoming state cross country meet.
Lakeview was led by senior Abi Carter and her 16th place finish, running the course in 21 minutes, 24.29 seconds. Freshman Kara Maxwell placed 20th in her first district meet with a time of 21:42.49 with junior Elizabeth Goeres placing just outside the top 20, crossing the line in 22nd.
The remaining freshman on the team were Emma Hablieb (25th), Catherine Goers (63rd), Avery Rosecrans (71st) and Saya Lally (78th).
The Lakeview boys placed eighth in the team scoring. Honker senior Daniel Murua finished up his high school career with a top 10 finish, placing ninth with a time of 17:54.56.
