The girls basketball team not only are heading towards quarterfinal 3A action in North Bend High School, but have already achieved the highest grade point average of any team in the state, 1A – 6A according to data compiled by the Oregon Schools Activities Association (OSAA).
The Hilanders joined as a team for a 3.98 GPA, beating out Riverdale by 2/100ths of a point.
Joining Burns in the top 10 3A teams, Nyssa closed out the basketball season with a 3.87, tying the Bulldogs with Amity, Banks and Creswell for sixth in the 3A ranks.
McLoughlin fell just outside the top 10, finishing with a 3.79. La Pine closed out the season with a 3.57 and Riverside finished with a 3.40.
