LANE COMMUNITY COLLEGE – The La Pine cross country team was among a host of teams participating in the Northwest Classic XC 2022 on Saturday, Sept. 17 on the campus of Lane Community College.
For the girls, the Hawks placed seventh in the team scoring led by freshman Ashley Jentzsch’s ninth place showing. Jentzsch just missed a sub 21-minute race, finishing in 21 minutes, 0.70 seconds, still her best time of the season to date.
The Hawk boys placed 12th in the team standings on the legs of senior Wyatt Montgomery’s second-place finish. Montgomery was behind only Philomath’s Ben Hernandez and his time of 16:20.2 is a season best.
