DRAKE PARK – The cross country teams of Lakeview and La Pine joined a host of other teams to take part in the Oxford Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1 on the grounds of Drake Park.
Neither team qualified for a team score, but La Pine senior Ashley Jentzsch placed 17th in the individual standings, finishing the race in 20 minutes, 58.8 seconds. Lakeview’s top runner was junior Abi Carter in 41st.
For the boys, La Pine senior Wyatt Montgomery cruised into the top five, placing fifth and a time of 16:44.9. The top Honker was junior Daniel Murua in 58th with a time of 19:44.2.
Easternoregonsports.com is again standing out from other media sources by listing all the runners from eastern Oregon schools in the cross-country competitions. First or 41st, all these runners made it to the finish line. There is only a single runner with the best time, but there are many more stories worth mentioning afterwards.
