LA GRANDE – The struggles continued for the La Grande volleyball team as Pendleton departed the Tiger gym with a 3-1 4A Greater Oregon League victory on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

The defeat extended La Grande’s loss streak to five matches.

The night appeared promising for the Tiger fans as La Grande grabbed the first set with a 25-17 win. Pendleton evened up the match in the second set with a 25-18 win. The third set proved to be the closest with the two teams battling back and forth before the Buckaroos escaped with a 25-22 win. La Grande was unable to recover from the loss and Pendleton swept through the fourth and final set, 25-16.

“Overall, it was a hard fought match and we played really scrappy,” said La Grande Coach Melinda Becker-Bisenius.

In the loss, Aubrey Bisenius had 10 assists, six kills, three serving aces and three blocks. Junior Maddie Armstrong led the offense with seven kills and served at 100 percent.

Senior Rilley Robinson ended with 15 digs to go with two kills while senior Kayle Kollman added 10 digs, four kills with one ace while also serving 100 percent.

Senior Emree Hutchins put up three blocks, two aces while serving 100 percent with two digs and four digs. Junior Madison Seavert also served 100 percent and added seven digs.
