LA GRANDE – The La Grande Tiger baseball team opened up the 4A Greater Oregon League season chalking up two victories versus the visiting Ontario Tigers on Thursday, April 7.
Game one saw La Grande put up 14 runs in the first inning and cruise to a 14-1 win in a five-inning game. Pitcher Sam Tsiatsos picked up the win, going four innings allowing one hit and recording nine strikeouts.
Offensively, Devin Bell had three RBIs and Jace Schow finished the game with two runs on two hits and a RBI.
For Ontario, James Dyas pitched 3 1/3 innings, striking out four batters and allowing four hits.
Game two saw La Grande again only needing five innings in a 19-1 victory.
Logan Williams and Schow combined on the mound, allowing only five hits and picking up 10 strikeouts. For Ontario, Seth Iwasa went three innings, allowing 10 hits and striking out two La Grande batters.
Bell again had the hot bat, picking up six RBIs for the game.
