JORDAN VALLEY – By the end of day Saturday, Oct. 26, a High Desert League volleyball champion will be crowned and three teams will be preparing for a state run.
The 1A High Desert League tournament will kick off starting at 11 p.m. with action continuing throughout the day.
11 am, #2 Prairie City versus #3 Adrian – The Antelopes advance to Jordan Valley after downing Huntington in a play-in game, an easy 3-0 victory. The Panthers hit the floor on a five-game win streak, including victories over league opponents Harper, Huntington and Jordan Valley, all 3-0 games. Prairie City/Burnt River beat Adrian 3-0 on Sept. 21.
12:30 pm, #1 Crane versus #4 Jordan Valley – On their home court, Jordan Valley advance in the bracket only if they can take down the top-rated team in the state, Crane. Jordan Valley downed Harper to advance while Crane made a trip to Burnt River to take on Union in their last time on the floor. The two teams met in Jordan Valley on Oct. 18 with Crane winnining, 3-0.
2:30 pm, the losers of Crane/Jordan Valley and Adrian/Prairie City-Burnt River meet with the winner picking up the third guaranteed seed to the state tournament. The loser will need to wait until late Saturday night for an at-large possible bid.
4 pm, the winners of Crane/Jordan Valley and Adrian/Prairie City-Burnt River meet in the championship match. Both teams will receive automatic seeds to the state tournament with the winner guaranteed a home match for round one.
