STEWART PARK – The Lakeview cross country team had a busy day on Wednesday, Oct. 23, taking part in the Umpqua Invite with a large contingent of high school runners.
Fielding only four runners, the Honker boys failed to qualify for a team score. Sophomore Ben Springer picked up the top Lakeview finish, crossing the line in 107th with a time of 19 minutes, 9 seconds.
The Honker girls finished midpack in the team scoring, placing ninth among the 18 teams present. Sophomore Emma Halblieb wrapped up the race just outside the top 20, finishing 21st after a time of 20:38.90 as the top Lakeview placement.
