COUNTRY VIEW – A single two putt or a pitching wedge going over the green. The Burns boys’ golf team put together a 193 total to beat Vale’s 194 as teams gathered at the Vale Invite on Tuesday, April 11 at the Country View Golf Course.
The visiting Idaho team of Cole Valley Christian placed third with the Ontario Tigers taking fourth after a total of 216. Nyssa failed to take a team score.
For the girls, Cole Valley Christian rolled over the Idaho teams while Burns placed second after carding a 240. Vale’s 256 was third while Nyssa did not put up a team score.
For the boys, Ontario senior Tyce Helmick took individual honors after shooting a 38 over the nine holes. Burns was led by Colton Miller’s 44 and Vale saw 47 from both Coy Schaffled and Jake Ross. Nyssa’s Stryker Hartley shot a 51.
Cole Valley Christian’s Caroline Given fired a 38 to take individual honors on the girls’ side. Burns was led by Choloe Rothwell’s 53 and Vale saw a 61 come frmom Julionna Gilman. Nyssa’s lone golfer, Bailey Ready, shot a 59.
