Hermiston Girls XC Finish 11th At State Meet

SUN WILLOWS GOLF COURSE – The Hermiston girls cross country team finished up the official season with an 11th place team showing in the running of the WIAA 3A state meet. We are saying the official end as the Bulldogs have been invited and will attend the prestigious NXR Northwest Regional Championships starting Friday, Nov. 12 at Eagle Island State Park in Idaho.

In the running of the state meet, the Bulldog girls ended with 252 points for the 11th-place showing. Mead grabbed the title with 114 points.

Sophomore Megan Joyce was the top finisher for the Bulldogs, placing 31st with a time of 19 minutes, 40.2 seconds. Senior Alexia Serna finished her high school career for Hermiston with a 45th-place showing and freshman Elizabeth Newman began her Bulldog career placing 56th.

Sophomore Jaquelin Garcia Sandoval was 105th and junior Ashley Treadwell finished 120th. Senior Cydney Sanchez crossed the finish in 148th and sophomore Madeline Franke was 155th.
