WALLA, WALLA – The Hermiston girls cross country team rode home with a first place showing after downing Hanford and Kennewick on Saturday, February 27 at the Mill Creek Sports Complex in Walla, Walla. The Bulldogs finished the day with 32 points with Hanford placing second scoring 40 points. Kennewick, with 56 points, was third.
The Bulldog girls had three finishers in the top five led by senior Amanda Nygard and a second place showing. Nygard posted a time of 20 minutes, 34.30 seconds. In third place was junior Alexia Serna and fourth place went to freshman Megan Joyce.
The Hermiston boys were outdueled by Hanford, finishing in the second spot. Hanford put up 21 points compared to the Bulldogs’ 36 points.
The Bulldog boys found a third-place finish by Logan Springstead with a time of 17:39.80. Fellow junior Grant Anderson placed fourth.
Hermiston is next in action at the Mustang Invite on March 18.
