Hermiston girls continue cross country dominance

BIG CROSS WA. – Still early in the season, but the story is the same. The Bulldogs girls cross country team arrives, runs and returns home with a first place showing. Taking on Kamiakin and Chiawana on Saturday, March 6 in Big Cross, Hermiston again dominated the field with the top three runners and a team title.

The Bulldogs left the course with 19 points compared to Kamiakin’s 53 points and Chiawana’s 58 points with the win. Senior Amada Nygard was the first runner over the line, posting a time of 20 minutes, 34.15 seconds. Nygard was followed closely by Hermiston junior Alexia Serna (20:40.98) and freshman Megan Joyce (21:13.51). The Bulldogs also had two additional runners in the top ten senior Ellie Ernst and senior Julianna Joyce.

Led by a sixth place finish by junior Logan Sprinstead and his time of 17:17.78, the Hermiston boys finished the day behind first place Kamiakin and second place Chiawana.
