The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association announced Tuesday, July 7, the decision to delay fall sports.
Hermiston competes in the State of Washington for athletic purposes.
The WIAA took the action to delay the start of football until September 5 with all other fall sports delayed until September 7. A further statement concerning the start of any fall sports is expected after the association meeting on July 22.
In a statement by the association, a committee of Board members, staff, and certain stakeholders are currently working to create a fall schedule.
The Bulldogs joined the Washington league in 2017. The sports currently subject to the decision are cheerleading, cross country, football, soccer and volleyball.
