VETERANS MEMORIAL GOLF COURSE – Hermiston junior Maggie Meenderinck may feel a little outnumbered as she boards the bus for the state cross country meet scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9 at Sun Willows Golf Course.
The Bulldog junior will join her seven male teammates as the Hermiston boys finished third in the team standings at the District 6 championships, thereby punching a team ticket to the state meet on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Meenderinck will make the state trip after a ninth place showing at the district meet, running a personal best time of 19 minutes, 29.05 seconds.
The Bulldog boys qualify as a team and were led by senior Jaysen Rodriguez’s third place showing after a time of 15:29.84. He was immediately followed in fourth place by freshman Leory Lozano Mejia and his quickest time of his young career with a time of 15:36.91.
