Heppner Freshman Top 5 At Ultimook (Full Results)

TILLAMOOK – There are few cross-country events in Oregon high school competition starting at 8 a.m. in the morning and wrap up at around 5 p.m. The Ultimook is one such race.

The 1A-4A varsity boys race resulted in a finish of 200 participants.

The 1A-4A varsity girls race saw 139 competitors cross the finish line. In the top five of that 139 was Heppner Lily Nichols. The freshman placed fifth, running a time of 20 minutes, 53.5 seconds over the course. The finish comes after Nichol’s first place finish at the John Hascall Memorial on Aug. 27.

The Mustangs also saw three boys place in the top 25 led by junior Grady Greenwood’s seventh place showing. One spot behind Greenwood was teammate Trevor Nichols, both crossing the line in under 17 minutes.
