PENDLETON – As teams gather for the OSAA 3A/2A/1A Boys Golf Championship at Quail Valley Golf Course on May 16, eastern Oregon faces will be plentiful as the results of the 3A Special District 3 tournament were released. The boys teed off on Monday, May 9 at Birch Creek in Pendleton, finishing up the following day.
Grant Union will be at state after shooting a team low 877 and claiming the district team title. The Prospectors were led by Tanier Fuller and his 189 over the two days.
The runner-up slot and second team scheduled to attend the state tournament went to Vale led by Coy Schaffeld’s 200. Heppner will also be making the trip to Quail Valley after Cody Flectcher’s 196 helped the Mustangs to a third place showing.
The individual title after the district tournament scores were tallied went to Enterprise’s Dylan Jennings and his 174. Nyssa’s Bailey Walker was second, firing a 182 and Wallowa/Joseph’s Chase Homen placed third with a 187. Joining this group of individual players at Quail Valley will be Riverside’s Wyatt Browne after his 189 at the district tournament.
