WILSONVILLE – The explosion of girls wrestling at the 4A/3A/2A/1A level has resulted in the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) putting forth a proposal to expand the state to three districts from the current two district model.
The new proposal lists 35 teams in District 1 and 42 teams in District 2 including the Lady Honkers of Lakeview.
District 3 would encompass eastern Oregon teams and includes the following:
- Adrian-the 1A Antelope girls were unassigned last season to a district.
- Baker/Powder Valley-the 4A Bulldog girls previously competed in District 1.
- Crane-the 1A Mustang girls previously competed in District 1.
- Culver-the 2A Bulldog girls previously competed in District 2.
- Echo-the 1A Cougars previously competed in District 1.
- Elgin-the 1A Husky girls previously competed in District 1.
- Enterprise/Wallowa-the 2A Outlaws previously competed in District 1.
- Four Rivers-the 1A Falcon girls previously competed in District 1.
- Grant Union-the 2A Prospectors previously competed in District 2.
- Heppner/Ione-the 2A Mustang girls previously competed in District 1.
- Imbler-the 1A Panther girls previously competed in District 1.
- Irrigon-the 2A Knights previously competed in District 1.
- Joseph-the 1A Eagle girls previously competed in District 1.
- La Grande-the 4A Tiger girls previously competed in District 1.
