John L. Braese
The Blue Mountain division of the Oregon High School Equestrians Teams (OHSET) gathered for their first competition of the year in Hermiston on March 14, 15 and 15. The group’s scheduled opener was called off due to weather earlier in the month.
For three days, competitors representing Elgin, La Grande, Hermiston, Joseph, Pendleton, Union, Pine Eagle, Cove, Wallowa, Baker, Imbler and Helix competed in a variety of horse and rider skills.
After three days, Elgin grabbed the large team championship while Hermiston took top honors in the medium group. Union topped the small division.
