Enterprise boys win, Vale boys 4th at Buffalo Peak

UNION – The Enterprise boys golf team took home the low score as six teams gathered at Buffalo Peak Golf Course on Friday, April 23. The event was hosted by Imbler High School.

Enterprise posted a stroke total of 378, 12 strokes better than second place Dufur’s 390. Third place went to Wallowa with 406 and Heppner, with 422, placed fourth. The Vale boys were fifth with a score of 442 and Echo finished sixth with 452.

“This was the first tournament for all but one of these kids on a course different from Country View,” said Vale head coach Tom Snook. “It was a good experience and we were pretty happy with their efforts.  This is a very young group and they are learning on the fly.”

The top finisher for the Vikings was Lane Clark and his card of 103.

The Vale boys will next be in action in La Grande on April 30. The Vale girls will join the boys in tournament action at Scotch Pines in Payette on May 3.

Vale boys individual results: Lane Clark (103), Aidan Madison (104), Dominic Bates (117), Charlie Barrett (119), Walker Phillips (140).

Vale girls individual results: Julionna Wilson (142).
