REDMOND – If they all decided to carpool to the state finals in Culver on Feb. 24, a good-sized bus would be needed for the eastern Oregon qualifiers after the conclusion of the Girls Special District 3 meet on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Unlike boys wrestling in the state, girls from all divisions, 1A through 6A, compete against each other both in the district and state tournaments.

In the recently concluded Special District 3 meet, La Grande returned home with the team title after putting up 178 points. Scoring 139 points, La Pine placed second and Bend, with 89 points, placed third.

The top three individuals in each weight division qualified for the upcoming state tournament. Here is a listing of eastern Oregon girls heading to Culver.

• La Grande sophomore Dora Galindo placed first at 105 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 9-6.
• Riverside senior Valeria Echevarria placed second at 110 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 15-3.
• Grant Union freshman Zoey Beam placed third at 110 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 13-6.
• La Grande junior Delia Gulzow placed first at 115 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 23-4.
• La Pine junior Julietta Leal placed first at 125 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 29-4.
• La Pine senior Reine Bissember placed second at 130 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 12-5.
• Ontario sophomore Hannah Hernandez placed third at 130 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 11-4.
• La Pine junior Kira Kerr placed first at 135 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 28-2.
• Vale sophomore Ava Collins placed first at 140 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 9-2.
• Vale sophomore Jessica Williams placed third at 140 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 4-7.
• La Pine sophomore Riley Allison placed first at 145 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 25-6.
• Baker/Powder Valley senior Sarah Plummer placed second at 145 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 16-9.
• Irrigon freshman Brittanie Ely placed third at 145 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 3-5.
• La Pine sophomore Taimata Callaway placed second at 155 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 6-4.
• La Grande sophomore Kaitlin Brock placed third at 155 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 7-8.
• Baker/Powder Valley freshman Sheylin Karolski placed first at 170 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 8-17.
• Grant Union sophomore Jaydika Anderson placed third at 170 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 1-5.
• Crane freshman Gracie Baker placed first at 190 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 7-2.
• Grant Union senior Delaney Coombs placed second at 190 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 3-6.
• Grant Union freshman Mallory Lusco placed first at 235 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 12-2.
• Elgin junior Aryanna Albright placed second at 235 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 5-3.
• Irrigon sophomore Stephanie Romero placed third at 235 pounds at the district tournament and enters the state tournament with a record of 2-6.
