Eastern Oregon Softball Players Grab State Honors

Jamieson Produce is an onion packing shed located in Vale, Oregon that packs and ships onions across the United States 12 months of the year. It has been in operation for nearly 40 years and currently employees about 50 people. Over the years our business has grown and to date we pack and ship over 100 million pounds of onions each year. We appreciate the quality onions our growers provide and the hard work our employees do every day. Jamieson Produce is owned by Doug and Terrie Maag and managed by Jeff Stubbs.

Y-1 Farms is located in Jamieson, Oregon and is owned by Doug and Terrie Maag and Corey and Mandi Maag. Various row crops such as onions, sugar beets, silage corn, alfalfa, and wheat are grown on nearly 2000 acres. The feed crops are used to provide feed for the feedlot they operate. Up to 12,000 head of cattle can be fed at Y-1 Farms. Y-1 Farms was established in 1985 but the Maag Family was farming before that. Doug farmed with his father, Warner Maag, for several years prior before purchasing his own farm. Y-1 Farms employs about 20 full-time employees to assist in operating the farm. We are extremely grateful for our employees and the hard work they provide.

Led by the 3A State Pitcher of the Year Ayla Davies, eastern Oregon softball players faired well in the release of the 3A All-State selections.

After guiding the Burns Hilanders to an undefeated 12-0 3A Special District 4 title, Davies grabbed the top pitching award in her final year of high school softball. However, she was not the lone Hilander on the list as sophomore Jocelyn Graham was named honorable mention for her work in the Burns outfield. Freshman Bailey Temple picked up third team all-state infield in her first year at the high school level.

The Vale Vikings also found three players listed with two players making the list as seniors and a freshman. Kacie Jacobs picked up second team outfield honors in her final season playing for the Viks and Brogan Payne made her graduation walk for Vale as a first team infielder. Returning next season and one of only five freshmen on the state team, Brooklyn Maag found her name on honorable mention for the infield.

Enterprise/Joseph/Wallowa bids farewell to two all-state players as third team pitcher Aimee Myers and second team catcher Cooper Nave both played their final games as seniors.

The Pioneers of McLoughlin name a single player to the 3A roster as sophomore Addy Leonetti picked up second team infield honors.

Umatilla also found a single name on the list as junior Kaylonni Schafer will be back on the field next season for her senior year as a third team outfielder.

Concluding the listing of eastern Oregon players named to the 3A All-State roster is La Pine senior Cortanie Hendry, a honorable mention infielder for the Hawks.

Quite an impressive showing for eastern Oregon softball teams.
